Since its inception in 2015, the Brock Strong Foundation has raised more than 1.3 million dollars to aid the families of children fighting childhood illnesses. Additionally, BSF raises money for travel baseball (BSF’s namesake was an avid baseball player, filled with compassion and kindness) and because of this, BSF also provides random acts of kindness within its community to keep Brock Johnson’s legacy alive.
The UNCF was founded in 1944 on the belief that there is strength in numbers—that Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) should have access to funds—as well as the belief that education was crucial to black mobility. As of 2023, UNCF has awarded over 7,000 scholarships worth more than $83 million dollars.
